CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: November 3, 2022
Editor's Welcome:
Pursuant to federal law, close to 330,000 clinical laboratories in the United States are licensed by CLIA. A sizeable majority of those laboratories, approximately 80%, possess Certificates of Waivers and only perform waived testing as classified by CMS and the FDA. Those providers of laboratory services are typically located in physician offices, clinics, and other point-of-care settings. In today's CodeMap® Compliance Briefing we will more closely examine waived testing and how CLIA laws and regulations govern those entities performing such testing. As always, please forward any questions, comments, or suggestions via email.
