Editor's Welcome: Today, we issue another clarification concerning the coding and reimbursement of COVID-19 related procedures. Last week, during our Annual Medicare Reimbursement Update Webinar, there was some confusion concerning the use of 2 HCPCS codes used to report specimen collection for COVID-19 testing; G2023 and G2024. In response, we want to clarify and stress the following:
- Providers should use G2023 to report specimen collection from home bound patients.
