This week, the OIG released a Special Fraud Alert concerning speaker programs, which may be found here. While the fraud alert discusses speaker programs created and maintained by pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, the OIG's guidance and concerns appear to apply equally to similar programs commonly used by clinical laboratories.
