CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: April 8, 2020
Editor's Welcome: Today, we will discuss how to code for COVID-19 virus testing at the same time as other common respiratory pathogens testing and how to code COVID-19 serology tests. Patients presenting with respiratory disease symptoms, in most instances, will not be suffering from COVID-19 infection but may have the flu or other infections. Coding for multiple infectious agents at the same time can be complicated. Serology tests are just now becoming available and will provide important data on past infections and the immunity status of patients in the future. As always, please forward any questions, comments, or suggestions for future CodeMap® Compliance Briefings to us via email.
