CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: March 18, 2020
Editor's Welcome: As promised, today, we present Part 2 of our discussion of the coding and reimbursement requirements concerning COVID-19 testing. However, we have more to discuss because of ongoing developments. Since last week's briefing, CMS has published discreet payment levels for COVID-19 testing in all Medicare Part B MAC Jurisdictions. In addition, the AMA created a new CPT® code for COVID-19 testing, which seems to be redundant to the HCPCS codes previously issued by CMS, U0001 and U0002. With codes available from both code sets, commercial payers may have to choose which codes they require laboratories to use. As always, please forward any questions, comments, or suggestions to us ....
