CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: January 11, 2019
Editor's Welcome:
In October of last year, Congress quietly passed new legislation, which addresses the ongoing opioid crisis in the United States. This legislation is far reaching and addresses access to addiction treatment, the over-prescription of opioids, the prevention of patient steering, and additional funding for related law enforcement activities just to name a few of the provisions. The legislation bears a lengthy and awkward name, the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities Act. Most refer to this law as the SUPPORT Act.
