As promised, this week we are presenting Part 2 of our examination of Medicare coverage of screening tests and services performed by laboratories and pathologists. Last week, we covered the coverage and coding requirements of performing screening tests for cervical, prostate, and colorectal cancers. This week, we will discuss Medicare's coverage of screening tests for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and sexually transmitted diseases. In addition, next week we will present a third installment because in recent years Medicare has expanded its screening and preventive care coverage. Part 3 will cover screening coverage for Hepatitis and HIV testing. As always, please forward any questions, comments, and/or suggestions ....
