Editor's Welcome: Every summer, CMS holds an Annual Laboratory Public Meeting. This meeting allows stakeholders to offer guidance on how Medicare reimbursement should be determined for new and substantially revised procedures codes to be listed on the upcoming year's Medicare Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule (CLFS). This year an unprecedented 100 new laboratory codes will be considered for payment recommendations based on either cross-walking to similar codes or gap-filling by Medicare contractors. This meeting also provides a forum for the public to provide comments on reconsideration requests submitted during the previous year. After considering comments from both laboratory associations and individuals, CMS will publish preliminary fees in September and allow an additional 30-day comment period before finalizing pricing for the 2019 CL....
