Earlier this fall, the Office of Inspector General of the DHHS (OIG) published its 2nd annual report concerning Medicare payments for clinical laboratory services. In this report, the OIG examines the total amounts Medicare paid in calendar year 2015 for the top 25 tests. The report also compares these amounts to how much Medicare paid in the previous year, 2014. Today's CodeMap® Compliance Briefing will summarize the OIG's findings as well as highlight some interesting conclusions drawn by the OIG as a result of the agency's compilation of this payment data.
