CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: 10/13/2014
Editor's Welcome:
CMS published the Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule (CLFS) preliminary payments for new 2015 laboratory tests on October 9th, about a month later than expected, but welcome, none the less. After considering stakeholder input at the July Laboratory Meeting, CMS proposes to crosswalk or gap fill the various new codes as described in today's Briefing. Payment for crosswalked codes will become effective January 1, 2015. Gap filled codes will be priced by individual Medicare contractors during 2015. CMS will publish these payments by the end of April and eventually set rates at the median of all payments for each code to be effective January of 2016. Please let us know if you have and questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Gregory Root, Esq.
