CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: July 10, 2014
Editor's Welcome: The Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014 (PAMA) includes many far reaching changes to how CMS will pay for laboratory and pathology services in the future. As with any Congressional legislation, the final interpretation and policy will be laid out in detailed regulations over the next several years. There is also the possibility of future technical corrections by Congress as well as modifications based on comments received after proposed regulations are published. This and the next two CodeMap® Compliance Briefings will provide an overview and more detailed analysis of the key aspects of this complex new law, but as always, the devil will be in the regulatory details yet to come. As always, please forward your concerns and/or questions via email.
