CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: August 2, 2012
Editor's Welcome: The CMS Center for Program Integrity (CPI) was created in 2010 as the focal point for the prevention and detection of fraud and abuse in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. The CPI brought together all Medicare and Medicaid program integrity groups in order to strengthen and better coordinate activities to prevent and detect fraud, waste and abuse. In February 2011, the CPI was reorganized to enable CMS to pursue a more strategic and coordinated set of integrity policies and activities affecting both Medicare and Medicaid providers. This CodeMap® Compliance Briefing will discuss the purpose and direction of the CPI and how its various departments interact with providers.
Sincerely,
