CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: 07/24/2009
Editor's Welcome:
Everyday, we hear the latest updates to President Obama's wide-sweeping proposals to reform healthcare in the United States. The newspapers, television, and radio are closely following his efforts, and the many political and procedural obstacles to significantly changing the patchwork system of health care payers, providers, and the supporting suppliers that presently operate in this country. Although most agree that the system needs change, many strong opinions exist as how to enact and pay for the reform. Today's briefing will examine how all this may affect providers of laboratory and pathology procedures. In addition, we will examine the possible changes that may occur in the next six months due to proposed and existing legislation not part of the developing healthcare reform bills. As always, please forward any comments, questions, and/or suggestions via email. Sincerely....
