CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: 06/19/2009
Editor's Welcome:
The OIG recommends that every compliance program include policies and procedures to ensure both prospective and existing employees have not been convicted of a crime concerning the provision of health care services or excluded from participation in any federally funded health care program. This week's CodeMap Compliance Briefing will discuss the origins and development of this requirement as well as advise health care providers on how to easily implement policies and procedures to fulfill these compliance program obligations. In addition, we will examine recent OIG enforcement actions concerning this compliance issue. As always, please email any questions, comments, or suggestions to the author of this briefing.
