CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: 5/1/2009
Editor's Welcome:
New codes for reporting molecular microarray procedures were introduced in 2006 are are now being used to report clinical procedures used in genetic profiling and personalized medicine. Some new assays employ thousands of probes and present new coding challenges since existing codes only accommodate up to 500 probes. Today we will attempt to bring our readers up to date on current coding practice for this rapidly developing area of clinical laboratory practice. Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Gregory Root, Esq.
