CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: 9/19/2008
Editor's Welcome:
The CDC recommends routine screening for HIV infections for all patients between the ages of 13 and 64 years, and annual screening of patients with known risk factors for HIV infection. Many states have also enacted regulations regarding HIV testing and reporting of results. Today, we will review the CPT codes used to report HIV screening and diagnostic tests. The latest CDC information on HIV rapid testing is available at www.cdc.gov/hiv/rapid_testing. As always, please let us know if you have any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Gregory Root, Esq.
