CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: 2/22/2008

Editor's Welcome:

This weeks' CodeMap Compliance Briefing will cover the compliance implications of standing orders. In recent months, many subscribers have asked whether standing orders are appropriate indications of medically necessary testing due to a CMS transmittal published last fall. CMS has since rescinded that transmittal which should alleviate much of the confusion. However, subscribers should still be aware of the appropriate use of standing orders, and the associated OIG guidance. Today, we will discuss these issues and hopefully clear the air of any further confusion.

Sincerely,

Gregory Root, Esq.
