CodeMap® 02/02/2007 National Provider Identifiers

CodeMap® Compliance Briefing: 2/2/07

Editor's Welcome:

In recent weeks, many of our subscribers have inquired about National Provider Identifiers or NPIs. Most providers have heard of NPIs, but many are unsure of their purpose and/or use. Providers should quickly become familiar with NPIs because all providers will be required to use these identifiers by spring of 2007. This week's CodeMap Compliance Briefing will explain the background, use, implementation, and compliance requirements of NPIs. As always, feel free to email us any comments, questions, or suggestions.

Sincerely,

Gregory Root, Esq.
