The new CPT codes for microarrays are subject to a number of special coding rules. This week we will discuss how to use these codes in combination with existing molecular diagnostics codes as well as the corresponding Medicare reimbursement. Much of the following information is based on advice found in the AMA's January issue of the CPT Assistant. Private payer utilization and reimbursement for these codes will continue to evolve, so please let us know about any of your own experiences with these codes and we can provide updates in future briefings.
