Coding Qualitative Drugs-of-Abuse Tests

Qualitative drug screening procedures using either blood or urine specimens are reported using one or more of the following codes.

80100  DRUG SCREEN; multiple drug classes, chromatographic method,
each procedure

80101  DRUG SCREEN; single drug class method,  (eg, immunoassay, enzyme assay), each drug class

80102  DRUG CONFIRMATION, each procedure

Drug classes include, but are not limited to:

Alcohols     
Amphetamines   
Barbiturates   
Benzodiazepines    
Cocai....
